Northwich’s very own Sensational Bathrooms, a family-run business that has quickly made a name for itself in the local community, has played a starring role in the recent BBC One DIY SOS: The Big Build special for Children in Need.
The company, owned by local resident Lee Pearson, generously gifted two entire bathrooms for a brand-new support centre for The Joshua Tree, a charity close to the hearts of many in the area that supports families affected by childhood cancer. When the call came for local trades to help the famous TV crew build the new centre from the ground up, Lee and his team didn’t hesitate.
Despite only being in business for a relatively short space of time, they understood the importance of the project and immediately committed to designing and supplying two complete bathrooms, donating everything from the tiles and suites to the taps and final fixtures.
Lee Pearson, owner of Sensational Bathrooms, shared his pride in being involved: “Honestly, it was a complete no-brainer for us. When you hear that DIY SOS is coming to town for a charity as wonderful as The Joshua Tree, you just want to be a part of it. Even though we’re a relatively new family business, giving back to the community that has supported us from day one is fundamental to what we’re about. The atmosphere on site was just incredible. Seeing hundreds of people from the area all mucking in together, volunteering their time and skills, was fantastic. It makes you really proud to be from Northwich. We were just thrilled we could lend our expertise to such a deserving cause.”
The beautiful, modern bathrooms will provide comfort and dignity for the many local children and families who will use the new support centre for years to come. The project is a powerful example of what can be achieved when a community comes together.
